Background of the Study

Corporate branding refers to the strategic management of a company’s brand to create a distinctive identity that resonates with customers and stakeholders. In the hospitality industry, branding plays a critical role in shaping customer perceptions, fostering loyalty, and driving business success. Effective branding strategies help businesses differentiate themselves in a competitive market and influence customer decision-making (Abubakar & Sulaimon, 2024). However, little research has focused on how corporate branding impacts the success of hospitality businesses in Zamfara State.

This study aims to examine the role of corporate branding in driving business success for hospitality businesses in Zamfara State, exploring the relationship between brand identity, customer perception, and business performance (Ibrahim & Bello, 2023).

Statement of the Problem

The hospitality industry in Zamfara State is growing, but many businesses still struggle with creating a compelling brand identity that attracts and retains customers. Without effective corporate branding strategies, hospitality businesses risk losing market share to competitors and failing to build lasting customer relationships (Gambo & Rukayya, 2023).

Objectives of the Study

  1. To assess the role of corporate branding in achieving business success for hospitality businesses in Zamfara State.
  2. To evaluate the impact of brand identity on customer perception and loyalty in the hospitality industry.
  3. To identify the challenges hospitality businesses face in implementing effective corporate branding strategies.

Research Questions

  1. How do hospitality businesses in Zamfara State develop and manage their corporate brands?
  2. What role does corporate branding play in the business success of hospitality businesses in Zamfara State?
  3. What challenges do hospitality businesses in Zamfara State face in implementing successful corporate branding strategies?

Research Hypotheses

  1. Hospitality businesses in Zamfara State with strong corporate brands experience greater business success than those with weak or undefined brands.
  2. A positive brand identity significantly influences customer loyalty and repeat business in hospitality businesses in Zamfara State.
  3. The challenges faced by hospitality businesses in Zamfara State in branding hinder their ability to achieve business success.

Scope and Limitations of the Study

The study will focus on hospitality businesses in Zamfara State and assess the role of corporate branding in driving business success. Limitations include challenges in accessing proprietary brand strategies and the reluctance of businesses to disclose detailed information about their branding practices.
